Personal

Sparky is one the most powerful hitters in the club and on his day he's capable of taking apart any bowling attack. However despite his massive natural talent, according to several seasoned club commentators (Jack) he has never really reached his full potential. His 159 not out against Newport Fugitives remains one of the highest scores in club history and at least one ball was lost in the river Ogmore on that memorable day.

Since swapping his whites for lycra shorts in 2004, Sparky has made only sporadic appearances for the club. However he continues to be an enthusiastic supporter and is a regular contributor to this websites guestbook. Those who know him best expect him to see sense around Springtime with regard to his rowing and fully expect him to make a comeback in time for the 2007 season. Particularly with the 2nd XI being relegated last season means Fugies will be coming to Newbridge Fields once more.

Although he's currently pursuing a 'healthy lifestyle', Sparky was once (what is known in these circles as) a beer monster. Fifteen pints of Guinness/lager/cider/red wine a night was no problem; unless you were trying to keep up with him. Luckily these nights are now a thing of the past and several club members can rest easy in the knowledge that the contents of Sparky's phonebook will no longer be on display to members of the general public.

He's BACK!
