Prior to 1949 the Club had no official insignia. It was Geoff Hardwick, one of our playing members, who wrote to the Earl of Dunraven for permission to use the Dunraven Coat of Arms as the official Club badge.
A copy of the Earl of Dunraven's letter of authority, dated April 19 1949, is shown below:-

Dear Mr. Hardwick,
Colonel Maxwell has forwarded to me your letter to him of the 6th inst. in which you state that it is the desire of the Bridgend Town Cricket Club to adopt my family Coat of Arms as their official Club badge for the future.
I reply direct to you and to say that it gives me much pleasure to accede to the above request, and you have my full authority for taking such steps as may be necessary to attain your object.
Will you please convey to the members my best wishes for the continued success of the Club and inform them that my absence from Glamorgan, which I very much regret, prevents me from being as closely associated with the Club as I would wish to be.
I am
Yours sincerely
The Earl of Dunraven
