Club Information
Formed circa 1840, the club is one of the oldest in Wales. We are based at Newbridge Fields in Bridgend, South Wales and run several sides of varying age groups and abilities including 4 on a Saturday as well as ladies and junior sides.
The 1st XI play in the South Wales Cricket League Premier Division following promotion in 2007. The 2nd XI play in the equivalent 2nd XI league after claiming the Division 1 league title in 2007, whilst the 3rd and 4th XI's play in the Welsh Club Cricket Conference. We also run Sunday and Midweek teams who play friendly cricket against mainly local and touring sides.
The club has a thriving junior section offering cricket at under 11, 12, 14, 15, 16 and 19 levels, with teams run by fully qualified coaches. Many junior players represent their counties at their age group and several have gone on to play for Welsh Schools and beyond.
The club is fortunate to enjoy excellent facilites and has access to three excellent pitches, while the new pavilion is one of the nicest in the South Wales area. In 2005 a new permanent two lane net facility was built offering a great opportunity for members of all ages to improve their game.
Off the field the club provides a friendly family atmosphere with a superb social scene (as demonstrated by this years tour to Estonia) with many social events throughout the year. For those wishing to relax and watch a days cricket, a fully licensed bar is open on match days.
We are a friendly club and always keen to welcome new players of all ages and abilities. Come along to our net sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 at Newbridge Fields.
